How much would you ask for a: 1989 Camaro 2.8l v6 t-top, red.New tires, battery, thermostat, coolant temp. sensor, MAF, TPS, belt, hoses, O2 sensor. Power everything, am/fm cd with 205,500 miles? According to kelley blue book, in "fair" condition its worth $1400. I'd say its on good cond., just needs a paint job as the current is fading in spots. I am asking $1800....what do you think?

In my estimation, a car in need of a paint job is in "fair" condition, not good.
"Good" condition would be with a fairly decent paint job and interior. The paint might not be perfect, but not bad enough to need a repaint.
Even if someone paid $1400, (which I still think is wishful thinking), after paying for a paint job the person would have close to $3k invested in the car.
That's too steep for a v6 car with 205k miles on it. Because with those many miles, the engine and trans are living on borrowed time.
Not trying to knock your car, just trying to be realistic.

I agree with Camaro 69
It depends on where you live and opinions. Where I live I can buy unrestored 1989 Irocs for 2K all day long with 130K on them. Last year, I almost bought a 1991 305 5 speed convertible for $2500 that only had 85K that just needed a paint job. I didn’t move fast enough

For me the only way I would buy a car with over 150K is if I planned to completely disassemble the car and rebuild all the critical areas. Normally I tell people don’t worry about miles have a mechanic check it out, but 20 years and 200K is to much. Even well maintained highway miles the car is well beyond what the engineers designed for. The Miles on the car are going hurt the resale.

I check Craigslist and found a 91 that looks decent (most likely a 20 footer). He is asking $1695.00 Its been on for a month with no takers. In my area, to sell your car in a reasonable amount of time you would have to be near or under 1K.

After saying all that, all it takes is one person wanting it. I have seen it many times. I worked for a small dealer and the owner would buy say a Buick and sell it for his asking price in less then 24 hour of the car hitting the lot. The next week he brought home 2 of the same cars with less miles and more option and no one even asked about them for 3 weeks and when he finally did sell them he barley broke even.

I wouldnt expect it to sell for more than 1200. I think about 1000 is a little more realistic though. All the things you mentioned replacing are standard maintenance but nothing really to add value. Even though it books at 1300 fair condition in my area people expect to pay less than book value.

Why are you asking 400 dollars more than book? and How quickly do you want to sell it? you may be able to maaco that paint job and get your asking price. People dont have money to throw around right now and I wouldnt expect to sell quick. maybe if you hold out til tax time you might get a suckurm I mean interested buyer. Do you have any pics you can post so we know a little more about how it looks? also how is the interior?

I am not trying to put your car down any way just my opinion. I am often wrong.

I would say around 1200 is about right man. Sorry but there just is not a market for them any more. If it was lower millage it would be worth a little more but thats a ton of millage for a 2.8.

Look on autotrader.com in your zip and local listings and see what they sell for in your area. Location does make a difference. Thats why KBB online will ask a zip code. The same car will have a higher or lower fair marfket value in different areas.
