I just got a used front fascia (nose) it is burgandy. I am going to get the car repainted black. However before i take the car to get sprayed i want to sand the nose smooth and fix the nicks and get it primed before it goes on the car.What grit sand paper should i sand the nose with? and what should i use to fill the nicks in the nose?

 

Let the paint shop do it. You start burying it in primer and it gets bumped it may crack. Some people are sure to jump in here and tell you the primer needs flex addative. Thats true to an extent. Different primers have a different amount of flexability. You could just end up making more work for the paint shop.

 

I agree with mad mike I do paint and body work for a living and there is one thing I don't like to do and that is to finish someone elses body work, not that you are not capable of doing the work yourself. Everyone does their work differently and everyone uses different materails so you might not use the materails that your paint shop likes. Another reason I would let the body shop do the work is they can only gaurantee the work that they do so if the the paint fails on the nose they could lay it off on the work you have done.
