Default How can I tell what type of Camaro I have?

I bought a 1985 Camaro, but I don't know what type it is?

On on the dash, it says Z28 and on the rims it says IROCZ. My title doesnt say. I tried searching thru the web with my VIN and its says it a base... I am confused???

it's 27 years old and obviously it has not been kept original or restored. It could have any engine in it by now as well as other items.

What it once was has no reflection on what it is now.

In the center console there should be a sticker with a list of RPO codes on it. Z28 denotes well, a Z28 :V and B4Z indicates an IROC-Z. An 85 IROC will have both codes.

Though as tig said, the condition the car is in today is more important than what it was 27 years ago.

Yeah I know the car is not original and far from it. For sure I know the tranny is not. Speedometer and trac don't work. The interior is pretty banged up. Really bad paint job. But it's a work in process., I am at work so I will post the VIN later. It's a 305 engine

underneath the hood their should be an OEM sticker that notes, what your engine size is. theirs also an oem sticker in the trunk under the carpet or behind trim panels, ( varies with each GM model) that will tell you the exterior pnt codes, and interior paint codes. sometimes they even state what trim package. if you send me an email, i will look up the vin and the paint codes and see what i get. ( i work at a body shop, with access to all the codes). the paint code might have EXT. , Pnt , Paint , or BC/CC by it.but yeah if you want the help, ill gladly search it up and tell you what i find.
