Default high beams

My high beams are stock on. Which isn't to big of a problem except newer cars with extremely bright high beams put them on and blind me. I don't think mine are that bright. Anyway how do i fix this. Do I just replace the switch on the side of the column. How hard is it to fix this problem? Thanks

Most likely the switch is broken, or the headlamp relay has welded itself in on position. You will need to disable the air bags, if equipped, and pull the steering wheel to get to the switch.

I believe the switch is down at the bottom of the colum beside the ignition switch (not the lock). Pull off the bottom cover and it helps to remove the nuts that hold the colum up so it hangs a little lower. You will see a small switch with a rod going to it from the blinker lever. remove the two bolts and the switch is adjustable so you need to put the new switch on and place it so it is tight against the rod.
