Default helpp!!!!!

So I was having my car run rough I found a faulty plug when I pulledi out it had oil on it I know its either the piston rings or the valve seals but I have not seen any blue or white smoke but the engine seems like its lost some power and has trouble accelerating what's my best bet??? I did notice some oil residue on the valve covers???

Oil and other gunk on the plug is normal if the plug isn't firing. Find out why the plug is not firing and replace it. As you noticed, the engine gets a bit weak with a dead cylinder.lol Start by replacing the plug and plug wire and go from there.

Thank you Pete what are some other possible causes of the cylinder not firing?

I can't say for sure, but you need a good spark, proper fuel and air mixture, and compression. Check compression on that cylinder to rule that out, then start looking at ignition (plugs, wires, rotor, etc) then if FI check injector to that cylinder. A quick note on spark...you can have what looks like good spark and sometimes under compression it can be much weaker than you had thought.

Have you checked for compression yet? Have you run any other ignition or fuel delivery diagnostics yet?
