K well here is my dilemma. I am a 16 year old kid and I want a fast car that wont be to much$$ I like the 88-90 Irocs are they good years? do they have any major problems? I want to get a manual but I know they are super rare so how much would a 1990 IROC with a 350 and 4 speed auto trans witj 100k miles run me?? any help guys??

EDIT I want T-tops is that an option with the 350?? also is a 350 with 120k+ miles any good? can u get a lot of ponies out of it?

 

u can probably get like an 89 Iroc for about 1500 or so depending on body and interior. not sure about finding a tuned port 350 w/ t-tops though.

 

K, are the TPI 350's good when they get say 100k+ miles? And are the 5 speeds rare?

 

I have an '89 350 with T Tops...40K miles. Asking $15,000.00 Not bad huh!?!

 

I know for a Iroc where i live they are going for about 4,000 to 6,000 even on ebay the are going for about the same unless the need work done to them...

 

89maro, LOL if I was going to spend 15grand on a car I would Buy an older corvette or 68 camaro, Maybe even a GT mustang.... but not an IROC, I'm looking at around 3k

 

an originl 5 speed F-body are definitly hard to come by, especially one with a factory 350.

I don't know if they are faster. A stick is quicker ( if you know how to drive it). If you are crusing next to a guy and you are in 2nd and his Automatic is in 4th it's going to take time for that thing to switch down...while that's happening you are already pulling away. That's my opion. I have a 4 speed and some kids were ( no offense when I saw kids, I am 30 they were 17) in a Z28 last generation next to me and I saw the kid staring me down in his side mirror so I just dropped mine down into 2nd turned off my A/C and slowly pulled up next to him. By the time he realised he was looking at my taillights it was to late for his 5 speed to catch me. SO it really all depends if you ask me, if you know how to drive the car....anyone else?
