Default HELP HER BREATH!

Okay okay......like im sure most of you know, the LO3 TBIstock intake is a freaking straw! Are there ANY cold air intakes for it I could get out there, or would an open element be alright? And if the open element wouldnt be too bad, what kind of bottom would it need to fit over the TBI...any specific ones maybe?

Not sure about the cold air intake, but I found some info on the 305 TBIs when I got mine.
Check out:

It's a lot of reading but it helps.

Yea i was in the same boat as you. There are no c.a.i. so your only option is to get a open element air cleaner. Your gonna want a 14 in wide and 3in tall one. Also it must be a drop base, which means the bottom of it is gonna enclose the trottle body, so itll clear the hood.

If you want a little more air with your stock cleaner there is a shield inside around the TBI that has 3 or 4 spot welds. Grind the wels down and rip that shield out.
Or
Look for a CAI for a TBI truck. You will get the intake hat, a tube and filter. You may need to add an angle tube or do some modification. I have seen some parts in pep boys right on the shelf. And a trucks CAI off ebay should not be too much.

Edelbrock part # 1207 is the most common. Its a real quick install and a huge improvement over stock.

or do what i did, take that gold ish spacer that is about 3 inches tall on the tbi, and take it off, and then use a drop base aircleaner so you can go 14x4 instead of 14x3.
