Default Heater on full - even when off

Hi guys - hopefully someone an direct me to an answer.

My heat (interior heat) is on full. The fan is off and still heat comes through at full (hot) and the slider means nothing. My mechanic had a look and says my flap is broken. Beyond that - I still don't know what is wrong.

Please let me know - appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

There is a little mechanical arm that opens and closes the 'flap'. The Flap is like opening and closing a door. Door open, heat comes out. It sounds like your flap is stuck open, usually because the mechanical arm is broken or disconnected. If its the one Im thinking of, its located below your radio cluster and can be a real pita to get to. You might just leave it alone.

Default hmm

Thanks - Have to fix it. It is over 90 degrees in the cockpit. I will get to it soon.

Does the flap control the temp setting or just the direction of air to certain vents?
