Default headlight problem

I got in the car the other night to go to the store, pulled the lights **** out, and no lowbeams. All the other lights worked as usual. When I put on the high beams, then the lowbeams will burn along with the highs.I have replaced the lightswitch along with the high beams switch in the last year.I had a time finding a lightswitch.I ended up getting it at Napa, and the damn shaft from the switch was shorter than the factory lightswitch.
Anybody got the wiring diagram for the headlights, and or any experience with the same problem?Oh, and this is the 4-light headlight assembly.

Thanks, Philip

the haynes and chilton manuals both have a good wiring diagram. as far as any experience with them, ive heard that they can go bad, even if its a new part. check the fuse for the low beams, and also make sure that the low beams aren't burned out. they have a seperate filiment for high beams in the same assembly
