Default header question

I was going to get some headers and a new y pipe for the car. The're eldelbrock, ceramic, accept all stock emissions equiptment, no welding required, and they are $399. My question is if i pull off everything including the air cleaner, tbi, intake manifold, valve covers, all the hoses that run over the valve covers, and the fuel rails; will I be able to get those headers in? Thanks.

it will be WAYYYYY easier to go in from the bottom. or if you can unhook your motor mounts and jack up the engine just a little bit.

They are not full length headers. They will go through the top and are not to much a pain.

Default RE: header question

just talkin from experience here... i have a set of hooker super comp shorty headers on my 89 rs. in order to put in the passenger side header, i undid the motor mount bold and jacked that side of the engine up a bit. 2 or 3 inches max. Just as AJK states. But i had to remove the air pump. Then i slid the header in from below. after that i replaced the motor mount bolt and went on with the drivers side since there is almost nothing over there, i just put it in from the top.the bolt closest to the firewall is a real problem to get in, took me awhile to get it in and tighten it.

im gonna be replacing my manifolds with headers soon as well. im looking at the cheap hedman headers. do i have to get a bung welded in for the 02 sensors for the tpi? i can prolly get a shop to do it for me. also, what else will i need besides gaskets and bolts?
