Default Header install

Hi everyone.

i have a 1988 IRoc Z that I want to install headers on. I do not want to use shorties I want real headers with 2 pipes and 2 cats and 2 mufflers. Does or has anyone done this and if so can you share some insight with me. Thanks in advance.

Good luck, trying to find space for what you stated. You will be draging almost everything on the ground Personal opinion, I went with 1 3/4 SLP headers, 3" in & out Catco cat and a 3" SLP catback exhaust. And nothing shows or drags.

Very true, I'm working on that right now...and it is tough. I've had a crossmember made and I'm still no closer. I gave up on longtubes a long time ago as it just wasn't working with the starter and bell housing.

to me the whole Y pipe thing sounds like it still wouldnt let the motor to breath correctly for larger cam applications... or am I wrong about this.

Someone gave you some incorrect infomation. The "Y" pipe is not a restriction unless you are talking about a full race engine. Not on a street car.
