Default header horsepower

I just ordered a pair a Hooker Super Comp Shorty headers, im fitting them with a 3 inch cat and runnin 3 inch exhause all the way down,,, how much more horse do you think i would get out of that? its a TBI 350. I was figurein around 10 or so, simply because thats what i got out of my truck with a set of 150 dollar headers. Im not lookin for an exact amount, just a ball park guess from some of the really hardcore car guys here, (sick, black, and so on and so forth) Thanks.

Estimate GUESS would be with the headers & catback 3' exhaust about 20/25HP and about the same for Torque. After installation get the car Dyno'd for a more accurte number. Because everything anyone says is just a GUESS. Reason: that 350 TBI is a unknown factor for HP/TQ to start with.

change the throttle body to a 58 MM and get you computer upgraded ... with the headers you would be looking at the better side of 50. more air/fuel in ... more exhaust out ... the faster you go. sick

the better side of 50 horse?? thats worth it. i was concidering getting a 4bbl throttle body, ive seen them, but i would also have to get a matching manifold. So it may be more with my time to get the 58 mm, might even be able to keep a little better gas mileage to. Do you think a local car shop could do computer upgrades or is it a chip only type thing?

i just found that 58 mm TB in my year one catalog. $364... is that a fair price? There is also the 4bbl in here for $418. Quite the price jump... and that wont inlcude the extra for the manifold.

Also, ive been thinking about going TPI,,, which i can get the whole setup for about 500 bucks. Would i be getting better performance out of the TPI that would make the extra money worth it? Or could i just get the larger throttle body and get relatively close performance, or even better? And how about a throttle body spacer?

Do a search for dynojet and you can find one closest to your location.
