Default Has anyone else seen a tri carb factory/dealer set up?

My family owned a salvage yard and as a kid I remember seeing a tri carb 3rd gen camaro. Trying to research what exactly I saw. It looked very "factory" with the air cleaners molded and black, with the carbs set up in a triangle pattern. Has anyone seen one of these? It had some special badging, but can't remember what it said.

No such thing, must have been a triangle shaped aircleaner you remember.
All the three deuce set ups I've ever seen were inline and no 3rd gen ever came with tri power, the three two barrel set ups were done in the 50's &'60's and mostly on big block Corvettes or the old Impalas with 348's and 409's.
Speaking Chevys of course,Pontiac had a lot of tri power 389s in GTOs of the '60's.
I doubt any 3rd gen camaro ever came with anything but a single four barrel carb or fuel injection and that includes dealer performance installations.
I'm pretty sure the last all GM multi carb small block was the '69 DZ 302 cross ram dual four barrel Z28.

Are you sure it wasn't a Crossfire Injection setup you saw?

there was three carbs on the intake, if my memory is correct i even believe they were venturi type. I know it wasn't a factory setup, but maybe some lone dealer add on. the only thing I'm not sure of is it might have been a firebird. but definately that 3rd gen body style. I know what the injected intakes looked like. this was definately three carbs and not inline but a triangle type setup.

Maybe it was a home built sheet metal intake or something, nothing like that ever came from GM or as far as I know from any aftermarket vendors like Edlebrock,Holley,Weiand,Offenhauser or anyone else.
If such a rare part exists I'd sure like to see it.

The closest thing I can even think of is the old Holley 950cfm 3 barrel carb.

They did use the crossfire injection on a lot of 3rd gen Camaros and C4 Corvettes in the '80's,I had an '84 C4 Vette with CFI.

I could be wrong, but the most recent Tri-2 setup I saw was on a 65 or 66 mustang.

That would have been aftermarket if it was, those Mustangs never came with three two barrels from Ford.

The 1969 435hp 427 big block Corvettes were probably the last 3 duece set up from the factory on any car from GM.
Here's the scoop on those and they did have a triangle air box but the carbs were inline.

I think Mopar had the last 3 duece set ups of anyone on some of the 440 "six pack" big block Challangers,Chargers,GTXs etc in the early 1970's.

Chevy 427

Mopar 440
