Default Guess the connector or check photo 3 for a deal to adv. auto

I crawled under my car looking for something to do and found what is in the photos. i have a wrecked exhaust hanger and a unconnected sensor wire to something maybe. i can handle the hanger fine but quite frankly im too tired (ive slept 3 out of the last 32 hours) to figure this sensor out by myself. what does it go to? is it something for an option that wasnt installed or no?

if you need orientation help in the pics, the left side is the front of my car and im under the driver's door taking the pic. any help would be sweet

holy rusty subframe, you may want to have the replaced before your trans falls out. i think thats more important to fix than a random plug.

as for the plug, go back under and look for a sensor that is unplugged

My thoughts exactly, there's not much metal left there!

hahaha welcome to michigan. the owners before me thought is a great winter car.....
ive definetly looked into it and the part you see is definitely the worst of it. problem is i cant imagine that being in the budget when my tuition is 23 grand a year. maybe a few years down the road ill get the whole bottom replaced. the connector seemed like a easy/cheap thing to do that may rid my code. looked briefly for an empty sensor but found nothing. i guess ill put on my work clothes and crawl under there again and look better.

I dont think that plug has anything to do with the transmission itself. I have a 700r4 here out of the car and all I see is exactly what I remember on that side. a Square plug with 4 prongs and the speedometer cable.
