Default govener

So i was cruisin down a highway the other night, it was vacant, dont worry. And my govener i guess kicked in around 115 or 120... All it did was bring me to idle till about 95 or so. How does one get rid of this thing? Is it mechanical? or a computer related issue? Either way, what do i do to either delay it to a higher speed, or just, be gone with it

Top speed is computer controlled, you need to have the computer recalibrated to remove the speed limiter in software.

You will need a new chip for the ECM that removes the top speed limited. Note: it was limited by the tires that came stock (H-rated) and if you have not upgraded the tires forget about taking off the speed limiter.

Good advice, as the last thing you want is a tire blowing out at 140 MPH. For safety sake get tires that are rated Z or better.

oh yea i knew all that about the tires. they are still somewhat fresh but not the greatest quality, thinkin about gettin some new ones anyway for better traction under hard acceleration, they brake loose WAY to easy. So a chip is my only choice eh? Where might i find one of these? any suggestions?

For one NO 350 3rd gen car was made stock with a manual. So you will need a custom chip(which are expensive). Also what are you using now???
