the seller said all it needs done to be driveable is a tuneup/timing, a new oil pan, and tires. he lives about 2 hours from me and said for $650 he would sell me the car and deliver it. is this a good deal? please help me out!!

BTW... this guy has it posted as a camaro "RS" but after looking at some info on the page i listed under this, it says that in 1989 the 350 engine was only available in the IROC camaro...and this guys camaro looks to have the effects kit on it...is this actually an IROC camaro? im really confused now!

Looks like a solid car, from the outside. I see RS badging though, and it has RS lower body accents too. It would have come with a 305 TBI, not 350. If it really does have a 350, it would have been a transplant. You'll need to do your homework so you can know how to tell the difference. Or, maybe the owner doesn't know any better and just thinks it has a 350? Or he could be lying about the engine, not that sellers ever do that though! [8D]
Do you know how long it's been sitting in the weeds like that? Moisture comes up from the ground and will make the car rust from underneath a lot faster than normal. That could explain why the oil pan is shot (if it's because of rust). Be sure to give the car a real good look underneath. Rusted out brake and fuel lines are another thing to watch for. But for the price, it doesn't look too crappy!

thanks for all the info. never thought about the moisture from the groud, but he actually hit a pothole and it dented the oilpan which led to it cracking. it was sitting for about 1.5 years...unfortunately it sold before i could get back to him :/
btw, i asked him just to make sure, and its a RS, with a transplant 350.
