Default Gm part to go decal

I'm going to give this Ask GM thread a try.

Background: I own a fully restored '89 IROC 1LE R7U that was raced in the 1989 and 1990.
lt is currently insured, has BC Collector Plates for street use and can be seen around town and at most car shows in my area.
The only series decal (supplied to the teams by GM Motorsports) that is deteriorating is the GM PARTS TO GO decal.

I'm wondering if The General has some of these decals and if so, how I could get two.

Thanks, Michael.

You should be able to have someone scan the decal and make you some. Heck if there is a market you can make some money off it but you would have to pay for the scan and the work done too clean up the scan and get the right colors back. If GM was selling them and making money on them that would be an issue. Back in the day we used to get the large Good wrench decals (think 80's Dale Earnhardt) for our dealer sponsored circle track car. I was told then I could not buy them even then. They could only go to Dealers and they where not for retail sales.

When I restored an old 1968 truck it had the Dinger Chevrolet sticker. I had the to drive to Allentown which was about 40 miles and a guy with a hand help scanner scanned it. I did not care to much about getting the color right, I think it cost me $120 US back in 2007. That was small (9" long). If you had a picture they should be able to get the colors pretty close.

Thanks Gorn, I have the file.

I just figured I would post here in the "Ask GM" section.
One would think they would come to the table with some decals as the car is essentially a mobile GM billboard. So far... crickets.

They either don't see these posts or worse, don't care.

I removed all the MOMO decals as they wouldn't even come to the table with some of their own product. Lost marketing opportunity in my opinion (and the car looks way better with just the series sponsors).

Like I said they are particular about who they give racing stuff to. The way the GM rep explained it to me is, they did not want to see one of there racing decals on a car on the evening news doing something really stupid or even on a race track being a jerk.

Even to this day GM seems more responsible than some companies. Example: GM will sell you a COPO Camaro that will out run anything Dodge has but it will be a NHRA Race car not a street car. Certified cages external fuel cut off the whole 9 yards. It will not have a title either. They do not want it on the road.
