Freshening Up My 305.
Hey Guys,
Winter is approaching here in PA so the Camaro will be taking a nap for a few months. I was thinking about getting the 305 bored out. I was told this will freshen up the car by smoothing the cylinder walls. The car has '93,xxx miles on it. I put 1,000 miles on it in 2 years so I don't beat on it much.
I know I can put a 350 in my Z28 and that's what I plan on doing, but this 305 is still young imo and I don't wanna scrap it. I want to put this engine in a Manual 5 Camaro down the road and keep the Z28 for a weekend car.
I was told I should get my engine bored .030 over and that engine will actually be a 310cid. I'm not looking for much power since the Z28 will be the 'Go Fast' Camaro.
But will I make any extra hp/tq from getting the engine bored out?
By the way, it's a 305 TPI so will I need to tune the car to accommodate the extra cubes?
Thanks
