well nothing is free. and are you looking to make it a little beefier or just run smoother? if you want it to run smoother, i would do your basic tune up, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, air filter, clean the pcv valve, fuel filter, throw some fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank, or get the fuel system cleaned. that'll be a couple hundred bucks, but its well worth it.

there are a few free ones in there. i dont know if the throttle body coolant bypass is in there, but i noticed an improvement with my car with a non heated intake

do you have the dual snorkel over the rad where the intake is infront of the rad? if you do, remove the little curved flaps that are in there, and cut out the inner walls, but leave the spines and mounts for the plastic peices if you wish to install them again. i picked up some throttle response and maybe some power doing that, and got more of a ram air effect at speed.

and the throttle body coolant bypass keeps the intake cool, allowing a denser charge of air. when the engine is running, you cant put your hand on the intake more than 5 seconds. but after the bypass, i checked the temp of mine, and it was 75* on an 85* day.

Sweet, but do you have any pics... it sounds simple, but I don't want to cut something I might need.

originally, i only cut out a V between the ribs, and cut the rest out later after i had tested it out in the rain. no wet air filters, so it seems good. and if i have to, i can still reinstall the flaps.
