Default Finally got my car!!

Yep, you read it right. Drove up to W. Palm Beach today, spent about 20 minutes looking at it and bought it for cash on the spot. Its a 1983 camaro Z28, 3.23 POSI!! rear end, with rear disc brakes, T-tops, a running 305 in it, so we were actually able to take it for a drive. Asking price was 1200, he said the lowest he would go would be 1000, I offered him 900 cash and he took it. Its being towed down here tomorrow morning, then we are getting it registered so I can drive it for a few days before I pull the motor out.

Then, after that, we went to my fathers buddy's house (2 million dollar house in a very exclusive neighborhood), who has a 1969 vette, a MINT, fully restored, #'s matching 1971 Z28 with the 335hp 350/4spd manual. Guess what, I got to drive it!! I couldn't stop smiling, then he let me drive his brand new BMW 630 or 650 or whatever, and man, I was never into BMW's until I drove that thing. Pulling out onto 441, I left a 50 peel mark, and hit 60 in 1st, then got up to 95 before I realized how fast I was going. Then back into his development, there is a series of banked turns in which I took at a good 50+, and that car handles like a dream. All in all it was a sweet day, just wanted to share some of my experiences with you guys.

You built that motor yourself? Learn me please? Lol. How much did you pay for it and how long did it take to build? I'm picking up an IROC hopefully this or next week.

It was orignally the 175 hp LU5 with the crossfire injection, but someone swapped it over to carb, which is great for me.

Btw, I am gonna have lots of parts to sell from my 88 parts car, and I also have a crossfire injection air cleaner setup, edelbrock 500 cfm carb, holley 650 double pumper, a DIS (distributorless ignition system) for a SBC I will have for sale if anyone is interested. Anything anyone needs, shoot me a line to mopar_4__life@hotmail.com

(Btw, dont rag on the mopar, im still a mopar guy at heart, lol)

Oh one more thing, that would be me in the pictures.

You are Jake from Two and a Half Men???
Well Jake you are too generous. The CFI only had 165 ponies. Never had one but driven a few Corvettes and a Camaro with that system and it may have been a good thing that it was swapped to a carb as I have heard many times they had their problems.

No, im Garret from Ohio.

According to thirdgen.org, it had 175hp and 250 ft lbs of torque. Not like I care, its coming out anyways, lol.

Btw, brassknukl, if you want that DIS setup, send me an email with an offer. Im really not sure what its worth...
