Well we got our 92 RS back in Feb. 2004 and it has been mod time since. We replaced the rearend last August to the 3.45 posi, and we just did an engine swap from the 305 TBI to the 350 TPI bored .060" over. Well today I am glad to say that the conversion is finished, we put an air box on.

Congrats, man. Glad to hear you got it done. Have you had the chance to take it out yet and see how it runs? Ah, yes, and get us some numbers. [sm=burnout.gif]

We have had it out with the K&N directly on the TB, but not a lot of driving with the new setup. Besides it is starting to get broken in now, around 1500-2000 miles, and let's just say we are going to be going through a whole lot of rear tires [sm=gears.gif] . As soon as it is completely broken in, or when time comes, we will get some numbers. There is talk of having a dyno day with the local GTOs in January and we may take the Camaro up.

As for quarter mile times, at an altitude of over 6000 feet with the TBI and 3.45 gears the best we could do is 17.4 at 77.4. We are hoping to get it around low to mid 15s with the new setup (engine, exhaust, and rearend).

Excuse me for my ignorance, but are low 15s at 6000 ft good?

They say that you lose between 3-5% of your power for every 1000 feet above sea level. My dad's GTO is somewhere around 475hp at the crank but would only produce say 400hp at this altitude. It ran a 14.3 on street tires, which would translate to roughly high 12 something at sea level. With all of the suspension work we have done since, a new tune, and some other goodies we are hoping to get that one down to around 13-13.5 (11.5-12 at sea level). So yes, 15s at 6000 ft. is pretty damn good. One last thing stock 04 GTOs are running 15 flat at that altitude, for reference (and they have 350hp, 365ft/lbs).
