Default exhaust

i need some headers for my just rebuilt 350. just wondering if anyone has ever had problems with full length headers instead of shorty headers which bolt right up to the stock y-pipe.
the car is an 89 camaro with a 5 speed T-5...

i have long tube headers. the only ones that would fit were headmans. i also had to dent and severely bend them to fit. not worth it. ill post up some pics of under my car. i also had to put true dual exhaust with 2 1/2" coils lifters for ground clearance. get the shortys. trust me.

agreed. Shorty headers are so much less of a pain. There are long tubes that you can make work, but once you finally get them in, ground clearance is pretty minimal if you dont live in a perfectly flat area. I got a set of hooker super comps with a y-pipe for just over 500 bucks. had them over a year and they still look like new.The headers do anyway, but the y-pipe is all rusted on me. i guess it didnt have as good of a coating on them

and does anyone know of a 3 inch exhaust system that runs in the stock exhaust location? i bought the shortys but i dont like bolting them up to the restrictive stock y-pipe. so any 3 inch y-pipes and exhaust sytems out there or is that gonna have to be a custom thing?
