You're looking at a big project that's ulimately going to amount to removing the computer and everything controlled by it, so you're gonna end up with a carb, new intake, new exhaust, an air pump delete kit, you don't wanna do away with evap, since it doesn't affect power or drivability, while it does prevent the loss of fuel vapors.

Everthing emisions has something to do with the comuter. For instance there is a solenoid for the EGR. But stuff like that should give no worries. Just remove and plug if you really must. Just dont plug the vent line on the evap canister that vents the tank.

Wouldn't that make the ECM go crazy with DTC's though, Mike?

Well, yeah, neither do I. It's not really worth it unless there's gonna be a big motor going in there to take the place of the stock motor.

well i have been tinkering around with the idea of putting in a 454 into it. a buddy of mine has the motor and i can get it pretty cheap. but that would be a **** load of time and work so i dont know. my main reasons for wanting to get rid of all of the emissions is to get rid of the computer and free up some space in the engine bay. it seems like the more detailed things i get in to the more of a pain in the *** it is cause theres always something there. im going to take out the air conditioning but i would still like some more space in there.

i say sell your 91 and get an 82 or 83 so you wont have to do all that work.

Your computer is working your fuel injection. Along with a lot of sensors that are needed.

Even that is going to have a feedback carb, a computer, and *gasp* An oxygen sensor!
