RE: Easy way to tell if I have solid or Hydraulic lifters?
I drive mine and don't work on it. Just do the maintenance. I did my lower ball joints the other day and finally put the correct proportioning valve on for the disc brake rear end I put in it. I can stop now! It has over 190k on it but runs great and I don't have a hard on for a 350. And I have smog inspection and testing so I dont worry about removing the equipment.

You kept the smog gear? [:'(] 190K? WTF!?
As Ive said all along, this Camaro was a winter project for me. I havnt seriously turned wrenches in 10 years. I wanted to take a nearly dead car and turn it into a tire smokin' daily driver. Shes not a show car, and she wont turn low 6's in the 1/4, but I got her runnin again. With this worked 350, I should be able to put on a smoke show. I just wish that I could get her to 100%. Every time I add, modify or make an adjustment I seem to find a new problem. I guess thats part of the game.
