Default Duals on a 305

I just got my 91 rs with the L03 305 in it...and it looks like the guy before me lowered it a little bit and put dual exhaust all the way back to the muffler, but then both pipes go into the muffler and have one exit. Im kinda broke being 17 and everything, but I was wondering how much I would gain if I bought 2 Thrush (they are cheap, and readliy avaliablehere) mufflers and turned it into a true dual. AlsoI see a ton of "performance chips" on ebay, but im very wary of thesebecause theyfit such a wide range of vehicleswhere the motors are very unsimilar...so are they trying to sell me ****? Or can they give me a little bit?

DO NOT BUY THE CHIPS FROM EBAY! It's a scam.

Thank you. I was actually considering doing it....so the money I saved there I could put towards mufflers. What kind would you say for true duals on there? Flowmaster 40's series maybe?

Dont worry about performance. If you want your car to sound ggod get your exhaust. You wont feel any gain or loss.
As for the chips on ebay and the money you saved. What kind of chips were you looking at? There are ones that cost very low like a staring bid of .99 and shipping is 8.00+/-. Those are usualy resitors that you can get in a pack of five for 1.00 at radio shack. There are real chips like Hypertech, jet, ect...But they don't give you any kick in the pants gains.
Keep your car looking, running and sounding good.
I spent money on my 84 Z28 with a few bolt ons and stuff and did shave a few seconds of my 1/4 mile time. But I look back and wished I saved that money to put elsewhere into my car.
