Default door bent and holding water

The previous owner of my Camaro hit the passenger side mirror somehow and bent the door out so the weather stripping isnt against the glass so when it rains water flows right in the door and stays in it until i drive around abit than when i get home its out, i was going to drill a small hole in the bottom of the door so the water can just drain out until i can get the door back straight against the stripping, is this a bad idea? how could i bend the door back straight? it's too stiff for a rubber mallet and anything else would just ruin it more, i dont know much about body work so any tips would be greatly appreciated

p.s. i know im newbish. lol

Whether you realize it or not, water gets down inside the door naturally in the rain. The outer door window seals aren't absolutely water tight, and doors already have drain holes at the bottom for this reason. Check to make sure your drain holes aren't plugged with crud. Do you have a picture of the door? It would help to see the bend.

I wouldn't sweat the water issue. Water will still get inside the door, that's the nature of the beast.
Since the mirror already looks trashed, I would try reversing the process. Smack, pull, push, pry, tweak, or whatever way you can from the front side of the mirror to try and bring the door back into place at the glass. And maybe while you're doing that, you can get someone else to hit the door at the bend with a rubber mallet. Oh, and roll the window down first in case you go "oops."

well the window motor doesnt work. lol. I'll try that though, i am probably going to just remove the mirror and smooth the body over somehow so it looks like it was never there to begin with, but idk thats a long way in the future alot of stuff to do before that, thanks for the tips, if only itd quit raining now so i could go do it, lol... that or my friend would get his integra out of my garage ^_^

well i ended up knocking the mirror off. lol. and in the process of doing so the door did not bend, budge or move AT ALL. man them doors are SOLID. if i could just get it straightened out im going to smooth it over and fill the holes and have no passenger side mirror. but i really have no idea how to get it bent back the right way, i may end up just filling the holes and leaving it the way it is, but idk. what do you guys think?
