Default Defective Seats

I was looking around in the camaro recalls and on the 91 recalls. There was something about the seat where it would go foward. On my car when someone gets in the back or if i need something out of the backseat. I just push the seat foward. By this I mean pusing on the back of the head rest and pusing the whole thing fowards the steering wheel. I dont have to lift the lever or anything. Is the recal they are talking about ?

Thanks,

No recall, that is the way the 3rd gen seats work. In a sudden stop the seats lock in the upright position.

That is the way they operate without the lever. I am a orignal owner of 87 and the seat backs worked that way from day one. The Dealer told me that is the way they operate. Now my 4th gen seats the lever works.

They don't lock upon an impact. They are suposed to lock if the front of the car is pointing down a hill. It is like that in my 91 and 84. It was also like that in my dad's 85,83,81 and I think also his 78. I have taken these kind of seats apart for repaing and have seen how the mechanism works.

Both your seat will go foward. They only lock when going down a hill or parked on a hill facing downward.

No it doesnt matter how it is parked . And no, they dont lock when i hit the brakes. I was going down the road the other day doing about 45 or so. And a big *** dog ran out in front of me and i had to slam on my breaks nearly locking them all the way and the passenger side seat flew up like someone just pushed it to get in the back seat.
