Default cleaning up

id really like to clean up the engine bay a bit. What can i legally remove from this thing? ANYTHING? i still have emissions, it has A/C which i have been thinking about ditching since i dont use it anyway. So thats one thing and a few hoses. but anything else? its TBI for now, but im lookin into fuel injection of some kind. that also will clean it up a bit. im not talkin about dirt, i know how to do that. im talkin about mechanicals. ideas?

You realize that TBI IS fuel injection, right? Or do you mean switching to port or direct injection. Of the two, for ease, port would be easier, but cost and labor aside, direct has my vote. Switching to port FI won't really do you much good. Not really worth the trouble, and I'm not exactly certain HOW you imagine aport injection systemwill look any cleaner than a TBI will.[/align]

The current air filter is 2.5 by 14, if I remember correctly. I think the TBI unit is 5¼ round, but a ruler or tape measurer would be usefull, and more reliable than my memory from measuring 2 years ago.

well depending on wheather or not your state has emmisions testing i got rid of my smog pump. and if you think you have the muscle i got rid of my power steering pump as well and im a little guy i still dont have much trouble steering and yeah i ditched the a/c too. also if you dont really like using windshield wiper fluid you could get rid of that cannister and the fluid pump.also depending on how well your car runs you could get rid of that bulky water reservoir for radiator overflow and what not and get like a smaller sports drink bottle. you know the pones with those straws in the top that way you have something for overflow and just paint it.or buy a smaller cannister whichever you prefer. but the switching from tbi to anything else really wont do much because most anything else has the same amount of junk in the way unless you switch to carb.
