Question Cleaning the MAF

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do this?
I've been told it isn't too hard and a must to do.
Best,

Mass Airflow cleaner. Pretty much the easiest way to clean it.

One of the best things you can do with the MAF (mass airflow senor) is leave it aone. They do NOT require cleaning.

ah, but they do. they operate at over 500 degrees and there is still dirt that passes through the air filter, and will cook onto the hot wire in the maf. after about 30-40k miles a visible white fuzzy build up can be seen

Gm cars have a built in "burn off" to clean the wire but you can not destory matter. You do end up a a carbon build up on the wire over time. I have never tried MAF cleaner I always used electical cleaner because by design it does not leave a residue. Never use carb cleaner and Carb cleaner is design to leave behind oils for the carb linkage. These oils can cause the wire to overheat.

I will standby my previous post about NOT cleaning the Hot wire MAF. But I don,t have that that problems because I am using the higher flowing Wells SU-145 thick film desigh. However; The Wells is no longer made since the early 2000's, they were stopped by a patent lawsuit. This was a loss for TPI cars becuse the desigh & flow were a vast improvement over the sock Bosch MAF. Do a Google seach for more info on the out of production Wells.

I also like the coment " just spray it and clean with a toothbrush".
