First off, Id like to commend you for trying all the logical stuff before sending out a 'help, my car wont run..." Too many people forget the simple stuff, and most 17 yo's wont even look...kudos there...

It sounds as if you may be having some kind of intermittent electrical issue...I know, thats a broad diagnosis but it rules out you brake fluid. (seriously, what was that about? 8*)

Is it totally random or somewhat predictable? Does it fire right back up?

Dont worry, there are other guys here who are way better versed in the V6 stuff than I am, they will chime in here in a few and tell you the sensors to check and the steps to take. (Im an old school V8 guy....)

nope

those code readers are for OBD2 vehicles and your car is OBD1 as it's older

my hunch is fuel delivery or lack thereof related

check your fuel pressure

Answer this as well: Has there been any type of modification done to the electrical system? Subs, amps, lights, etc....if this is the case something could be shorting.
