I know what you mean. Low maintenance usually means 'disposable'. As far as the 100K anitfreeze, well I knew a guy.......says a girl came into a garage with a seized motor. Oil was thick as tar. When asked about her last oil change she says "this car only needs a tune up every 100K miles". Who knows if it ever happend, but its a good story. OK, back to the subject, I dont want to hijack Pauls thread.

Japanese Domestic? Isnt that like saying standard /metric? I still dont get it. Ugh, you kids! (In my best old man voice!) So, any luck on your buddy's car? Maybe you could just slap a chrome muffler tip on it and some decals. Thats what ALL the import kids around here do! "Look man, I gots a 75 dollar muffler tip! It adds like 50 horsepower, yo! AN\nd my K&N cold air induction adds MAD power!"

Paul, Im just giving you a hard time. I have to admit that these import cars run harder and longer! But damn, they are so much harder to work on. Thats why I bought a 82 "Maro. Simple and easy.

SO, back to the subject. Hows yer buddy's car coming along?

YAAAAAA, turned out it was fuel filter and a vacume leak. srry i abandoned this thread for a week lol. ya i wrote a paper on imports and domestics the other day for college. I should post it and i will to make a flashy exit from this domestic forum. lol. ya allot of guys do the vato zone decals on there car and the intake muffler thing but thats just fast and furiouse at its best. There are the few that do it right and I love the look on you domestic guys faces when you lose to a 4 banger. Their actually easier to work on and way more efficiant than your muscle cars that you all rave about so much. Im a domestic guy too and a ford one at that but allot of you guys talk down on imports and I think its funny cuz you have no idea. but its all ok Im just kidding. right? thx for all your help fellas i understand your point of view on imports. C U around.

More efficient? Not if they're making the power they need to go as fast as a muscle car does. My 91 was pushing 200 horses and still got about 28 mpg on the highway at 70-80 mph, last time I made a roadtrip in it, and I average 23 under heavy acceleration all the time. Doesn't matter how big or small the motor is, what matters is what power it makes, and how efficiently it does it. As for easier to work on, I had a 240SX once (big mistake, that thing was such a turd) that was no easier to work on than my Camaro. Camaros are MUCH more open under the hood, and so much easier to access everything. Ever changed a water pump on a front wheel drive four banger? It's a *****, no matter what car it is. It's all a matter of opinions, though.

More efficient, yes. As in a computer controlled engine is more efficient than an old points distributor setup. Thats why all cars have gone electronic. Easier to work on? NO WAY! For starters, my car only needs fuel, air and spark to run, not a super computer that takes a 5 thousand dollars diagnostic machine every time it trips a trouble code. When was the last time you could actually crawl INTO a Jap engine compartment, or sit on an inner fender well? Older American cars just have those obscenly large engine ports that lend themselves to easy wrenching. ANd I dont care WHAT you say, nothing, and I mean NOTHING sounds better than an old V8 with a set of glasspacks!

Vato Zone. I like that. May I use that some day?

yes, you may use vato zone all you want lol. yes I agree about the room of a japanese engine bay. But it dosnt take much to free up some space. its too long of a discussion. but its called wire tucking if you wanna look it up lol. this thread has been funny and great to talk and argue on. I would like to know what you you guys are running or what car and setups? curently I have a 93 integra gs-r with boost ( turbo charger) 312whp and 2300lbs you do the math mr. 6000 pound GTO. and before you start gettin offensice me and my dad work on a 1932 for coupe ( 5 window) and we are almost done with our 1965 mustang fastback. we are converting the fastback to a 5.0 fuel injected cobra engine. with the lincoln versi rear end ( 9" with indipendent suspention arms. yes she is a modern car for her age. lol the deuce coupe is running a 5.0 HO engine with all the lil decals that my dad likes..... i say go fenderless hi boy but he likes the low fender style. omg i am a dsm guy too h ahahahahaha but not really jdm yo!

3700 pounds. and 312 whp is childs play for a SBC in the right hands. You've probably put a ****load of work into that car, and it's commendable that you've got that much power in a ricer, but it still seems like alot of work to get not alot of power. Keep doing what you're doing with that Mustang though, one of the only respectable Fords out there, back when it wasn't so bad to be a Ford guy, since the Camaro wasn't out yet.

haha iono if this thread is ever gonna end. Yes ford is #1 in domestic muscle to me but i will agree that chevy parts are way more available and way cheeper. thumbs up on both ends. I have about 5000 in my integra including the price of my car lol. and its looks 10X's better than any 5000$ camaro. not to mention about 4 seconds faster. 315whp @ 23mpg FTW (FTW= for the win you old geezers)
