Default Canary Yellow, rare on camaros?

I got my 86 iroc-z 305 TPI running like a wet dream. She is Factory canary yellow, the paint is oxadized, so she needs a paint job. I been thinking of candy apple red, but it also crossed my mind that canary factory yellow could be rare on an F-body iroc-z.

just wantin some input. My friends all hate the color, and call my car the rotten bananna lol. Then I remind them that i own a camaro, and they usally shut up or get roughed up lol

should i have hte paint restored, or go with the custom job?

I am so stuck

edit-- I think it is, it's paint code 51

kinda what mine looks like, except the rims, i still have the orignal iroc-z rims, but that is the exact same color as my car

From what i can find, the yellow was available also in 85, and in 86 they changed to a base coat/clear coat system for the first time. that color was only available on the IROC-Z until 1987. im working on finding actual production numbers

yeah the only thing I have found so far is that link in my first post. From what I can tell it seems like a rare color around the "rust belt" of america. I live in ohio, so I am in that belt. There is 3 rust spots on the car, one on the hood, which is the worst, but isn't that bad, and the other two on the back quarter panels, around the inner fender, not noticable unless you know what your looking for.

I have a guy that will paint my car for a 1,000 bucks, any color! I have seen quite a few finished vehicles, he is a solid painter.

he did this 70 chevelle SS, candy apple red, you guys would have to see it to beleive it. If i could have kids with this car, I would...

Personally i would keep the yellow gold color or close. Something rare, something fresh you dont see too much. everyone paints their IROC red or black, and there always seen in white. Blah. Keep it fresh, new....even the GTO Orange metallic would be cool.

You can paint it whatever color you want.

Unfortunately, a coupe or T-top Camaro has very little value as of right now.

Certain convertible models and the obvious TTA, 1LE and California Iroc-z's seem to be the only models that are actually increasing in value at this time.
