That vac line should go to fuel pressure regulator right underneath manifold and in front of dist. You can see it in your pic, round dome shaped thing with hose fitting sticking up. Other thing looks like map sensor

map sensors were 89 and up only. 85-88 used a maf. the cut vacuum line probably goes to the map sensor. does the car idle high and run like crap?

It looks like your fuel pressure regulator is already hooked up to manifold. The vacuum diagram on hood sticker says that hose is for HVAC. It gives vacuum for heat and air controls

88 was the switch over year for it to go to a map. the maf is located on the air inlet tube before the throttle body. if you dont see a maf with a 3 wire plug on the inlet, then it is a map car. running it without that sensor and with a vacuum leak like that will cause it to run badly. the map i think is mounted under the upper plenum. my car originally used those two ports for the fpr and the egr. my hvac is on the driver side, but i cant remember if its supposed to be or not. i suggest picking up a chilton's manual, they have an excellant vacuum diagram

yeah thats a map sensor, when ours went bad the gas went down to 12 mpg and would smoke more than normal, when we changed it it went back up to 22 (it smokes cause the valve seals melted cause we got the wrong kind)
