The spring in the center hinge of the wiper arm is what holds it to a pin. If you're replacing the whole blade take your old one and bend them back on the hinge and that will relieve tension and open the spring and a little muscle will pop it off the pin. Be careful not to break the plastic that the pin is in or you will replace the arm.

If you just have the rubber refills they will slide in and out and usualy have a steel hook set up at one end.

Ditch the refills, they are always a PITA. Just buy the entire blade. I know 16 bucks a pop is steep but you gotta do it. Good luck.

I agree on ditching the refills. Another thing you could try is to pry up on the small spring in that hinged area with a small screw driver. Usualy I just do it by hand but whatever yworks for you to relieve that spring from the groove it sits in.

Okay, generally refills only fit the brand they are...ie trico refills to trico blades, bosch refills to bosch blades. If you don't know what blade you have then take the refills back, otherwise all you need is pliers, preferrably needle-nosed. Also, fyi, if you bought these at an automotive aftermarket parts store like Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts, they offer free wiper install and a good salesperson will help you learn how! Good luck

What advance or Autozone do you shop at? The "ASE parts Pros'" around here are complete morons. Some of them leave me wondering on how they canthinkand walk at the same time.

I bought blades at my local Auto Zone before, and the guy offered to put em on for me. I said "I can do it, I'm quite capable". But he flew outside and did it anyway, without any argument from me. He's no longer there, and now most of the workers there (except for one girl who really knows her stuff), I wouldn't even let them set my watch![8D]

But she does know cars very well. I try to get her to assist me when I go in. The rest look like deer in the headlights, and are there just doin time.
