Default building up a 350, and looking for help/suggestions

im getting a 350 from a truck with a 4 bolt main. i plan on swapping my tpi setup over to it. heres a list of mods already on the tpi that got me a 15.2 @ 92.25:
throttle air foil
high voltage coil
plugs and wires
descreened maf and airbox mods
no muffler

now with the 350, i plan on getting a set of 1 5/8" headers and a y-pipe, replacing the cat with a race muffler, 52mm throttle body, .440 lift cam, all the mods already on the car now, possibly a port polish, and possibly a 2000rpm stall convertor. how much hp and quarter times should i be looking for with the stock 2.73 posi.

also, i know the 305 in there had 19lb injectors, and the 350 should have 22lb. since im modifying, should i get 25lb injectors? i might bore and stroke it sometime in the future.

Depeding on the compression ratio of the 350, it might actually be a downgrade in power. I dont know about the tpi, but you should look for a motor with more compression and a slightly bigger cam

also, replacing those gears will make the car faster than all those mods you mentioned combined. And a stock 350 truck motor, your going to get maybe 250 hp. slightly better quarter time with the headers and stuff, but dont expect it to be a rocket

The truck block can take the stress, but you need to get some compression and good flowing heads on that baby, especially if you plan to use a big cam.

i dont plan on running a big cam, or swapping gears (yet) the cam i have is designed for midrange power that matches the design of the tpi. i plan on keeping the word silent on the streetsthat its swapped, and show them the time slips of when it was a 305.

also, i may have the deck resurfaced just to gain a bit of compression. i plan on running 89 or 92.

How much money do you have to spend on this?

right now, about zero. i dont plan on spending more than $1000 including the engine, as well as subframe connectors.

for fuel injectors, would it bebetter to go with 25lb injectors for the cam, intake, and exhaust upgrades instead of the 22lb required for the 350

sounds like youd do yourself some good to go with a little larger injector over stock. Look in the future and do what you can for it now. Small things that wont hurt to do now, but will help later, if ya know what i mean.

What are you wanting out of this motor, as far as power goes.
