it's funny you say that the intake won't do anything. what the hell does it say in part 2 on this site?
http://www.goingfaster.com/spo/325_h...chevrolet.html
your the one that pointed this out to me. it says 20 hp improvement. and yes it is stock replacement but it flows much better than stock.
also the guy guarantees that thechip will do what it says. if it doesn't he will buy it back and pay for the shipping. that sounds pretty convincing.it says an average of 17 hp, not 17 at most. just read his feedback.
if the chip gives me 17, the heads give me 35, the intake gives me 20, the flowmasters i have now give me 10, and the k&n gives me say 2-3, that's 84-85 hp over stock. seems pretty good for short money.
and don't go changing your story on me. this is what you were all pumped to get a few months ago. don't sayit's a $hit setup because your planning on getting a 350 now.

Just remember you can not make Horsepower by ADDITION. By that I mean you can not add up the possible gains from all your bolt ons and expect that number. Most parts work toghter and there final numbers will not be what you expect after a dyno run.

For instance, somebody mentioned that helping the car breath will help. A lot of people will throw on an intake and a cat-back exhaust and expect huge improvements. You will see some improvement, but nowhere near as much as if you were to also use a low restriction cat, headers, new intake manifold, and new heads. Achain is only as strong as it's weakest link, and if you have restrictive heads (or whatever), that's your weak link. This is why you have to be careful of claims like "you'll see an increase of AS MUCH AS ___" ; they never tell you, "you'll see an increase of AS LITTLE AS ___" even though it's probably more realistic.
The latest issue of Camaro Perfomers magazine has an article all about a 305 buildup. It gains 105 horses from several boltons. I would advise you to think of any improvements as a total system, rather than just slap random parts on it and hope it works together.

RE: bolt on horsepower?
Thanks!
I forgot to mention . . .
Regarding the TB spacers; I'm not sure if there is info out there or not, but I figure somebody must have tested them on a small block Chevy by now. I know in the Jeep world, it's pretty much accepted as gospel that a throttlebody spacer will REALLY wake up a 4.0 straight six. It may not be a huge improvement, but I can't see it hurting. Unless it does, in which case, ignore me. lol
