Default big block

seeing as how im eventually gona make this camaro of mine one MEAN (but street legal) speed demon,,, i was thinkin about puttin a big block of some sort in this thing. Would it be ok to go to a junk yard and pull a chevyBB out of a old station wagon and rebuild it? Or do yall think i should just go with a whole new block? Pretty much everything would be replaced. I was hopeing to have 700+ hp out of it SOMEDAY, not for many many years, but i was thinkin about getting the block soon and starting to build it piece by piece. Know what i mean? and yes id redo the whole drivetrain, thats why it wont happen for many years from now. probably a good 10 or so before i have it FULLY done. But i was just wondering what yall thought.

get an old motor and rebuild it. you'll appreciate it more. 700 HP will twist your body in half. better look for a hardtop for that project. Sick

Run subframe connectors, beef up your rear end and trans, and prolly put a roll cage in.

yea i had planned on doing SOMETHING to try and help it out, a roll cage, beef up the subframe somehow. But i might just be SOL with this car, might have to put something like that into a different car... we will see. its still in the works.

what about mounts? where can i get BB motor mounts for this thing? do you think i should just take them with me when i get the motor out of a junker car?

also, SIW, how much are you askin? Im not lookin to spend much on the motor, as im probably gona junk MOST of the engine anyway, or try and sell it to somebody. All im really lookin for is a block, i planned on going from there.

If you get an engine from a junk yard, get everything else that is attached to it, except the body. Chances are that you are going to need it and go crazy looking for it.

motor is complete --manifolds,carb,alt,all backets, air cond, and ps,tranny still attach---truck was wreck in rear when we pull the engine and tranny--asking price is $750.00 for both---look on ebay you will not find any junk blocks for less then $450.00 if you are luckly
