Any Ideas for a rockin' system that won't drain my battery?

I reposted this from the audio section of the forums

You could try upgrading the existing speakers and add an amp without a sub. The sub is what would really kill the battery. I've got six in total; 6x9's under the sail panels, 4x6's in the dash and I added two 5 1/4's in the doors. It'll make a significant difference. An I haven't had a problem with the battery dying. Hope this helps.

I'm not one that knows a lot about sound, but I've always liked Pioneer. I say keep it simple and within your budget.

I would go with a Pioneer head unit and maybe Rockford Fosgate speakers and subwoofers.

Get some really good quality 6x9's in the side panels by your head and get a decent deck and a mid quality amp, you will be rockin.
