I found a 1980 Corvette for sale...its in overall 'good' shape, paint needs touch up where it kissed a wall on the front quarter panel....the guy wants 6500 for it and told me hed give me a substantial amount in trade for my Maro....So I did a little research.

The 1980 Corvette came with 190-230 horsepower. Yuck. My Camaro has almost a hundred more horsies!(Yeah, I know Ive done everything possible to the Maro and the the Vette could be built to the same standards) Worse yet is he kept saying something about it being a 'Canadian' car with a KPH speedo....I know the California models only came with a 305, I dont know what the Canuck models had.

Ive grown attached to my monster Maro, but those Corvette lines........ohhhhh baby......

 

And think for a moment.....If you left the Camaro forum for a Corvette forum who would I pick on then!

How would a km/h speedometer affect anything at all? :v If anything it makes it seem like you're going faster 'cause 100 km/h is 62 mph :P

 

I had an 80 vette about 10 years ago that I ended up trading in on the SS. Very fun car to drive as it had a four speed but the SS put it to shame in all categories of performance, handling, safety and comfort. Still...gotta love that body!

 

Def. dont do it! 1980 was one of the worst years for the vettes. With emissions, fuel shortages, etc. they really cut back on performance. Anything corvette from 1975-1984 was a total dog. Then in 1985 they introduced the TPI system, which really made a difference.
