Default air cleaner

the only chrome air cleaner for my car (305 tbi) is just the top by edelbrock. does anyone know if you can fabricate an air cleaner for say a 4bbl carb or whatever it may be to fit a tbi system. the reason is because with my functional hood, when i wash it water gets in. for those with a tbi setup they know the air cleaner lid goes down in the middle. it's a great place for water to stay the lid that edelbrockmakesalso goes down in the middle. i want something flat that won't hold water. there are plenty available, just none for a tbi.

might have to buy a whole air cleaner with a drop base to make what your wanting. Drill some holes in the bottom for the sensors and there you have it.

A TBI has the same size neck as the 4bbl.

Yeah, I've been wondering about that, too. I'm looking at the X-stream assembly from K&N, sine it has the open element top . . . but if water tends to collect up there, it may not be a good idea. I've never noticed that before; has it only started to happen since you got your cowl induction hood? Do you have a hood insulation pad on it? Maybe mine is soaking up the water that gets in.

The questions about how to relocate all the stupid sensors is still a good one.

ive already said how to reloacte them, you need to drill holes on the bottom of the assemlbly in roughly the same area...
