Aftermarket Chips

Aftermarket Chips
So, after months and months of VATS trouble, I finally found that the VATS bypass can be a two part job. In my casebypassing the PROM in the ECU wasn't enough - I had to permanently enable the crank enable relay.
I'm proud to say my car runs perfectly now (for a 16 year old car).
There is, however, one new problem. The bypass we were sent came with a 110mph speed limiter which we didn't order. Rather than send it back and wait for a replacement, a friend of mine with his own camaro suggested I get an entirely new performance ECU. He promised me the usual "noticeable difference."
What do you guys think? Has anyone come accross a chip that actually increases performance in a stock camaro?
1992 Z28 305 w/manual.
Thanks!

RE: Aftermarket Chips
Some chips on a stock motor just change minor items and really don't add performance, but they do make a small difference. Just don't expect a 305 tbi to turn into a fire breathing 350.

not ona stock car, and then even if you are doing it to a very modified car you are playing russian roulette with ur motor.you dont know if that tune is good for you. strap that car on a dyno for basically the same cost as any of these chips.
i personally dont trust mail order stuff, i like to see the AFR curves for myself
