Default 92 RS for 98 Jimmy SLT??

Hey all, hope you can help. See a real nice 92 Camaro RS 305 auto a/c on craigslist, guy says the driver's window regulator will need changed, it's getting real slow moving. Car has high miles, but so does my Jimmy. We're looking trading straight across, or he's wanting 2500 for the car. here's the link:

sale or trade 1992 camaro rs

there is the ad, my Jimmy is leather, loaded, heated/power everything, and everything works. tranny and rear end and a/c have all been changed in the last couple years.

What kinds of things do I need to look for? he says it's dent free, rust free, was garaged, same owner for 12 years and he got ahold of it from her, but his wife called it impractical and won't drive it LOL

thanks for any pointers!

I would do it. The third gens are becoming pretty hard to come by at a good price. in the past i owned about a dozen of them, all real nice ones and i would cut them up and crash them and junk them and buy another. now i wish i had held on to at least one. i've seen some real clean ones going for 10k and up. And theyre only going to get more expensive.

okay, i know nothing of the v8 world, i've been a 2.8/3.1/3.4/4.3 motor owner my entire driving life (sad, i know)
he said this thing is original, down to the factory radio still!

is there anything with these? being 92 i'm assuming it's not like the old 70s motors where 100K was a grenade waiting to happen, but did they have any sort of common leak or anything to look out for?

btw i really appreciate the response

well, the guy has ducked me for a whole day on it, but that ad was refreshed, so i assume somehow my truck that BOOKS over $1200 higher isn't worth his time on a gravel road. ah well... there's always a next time

Incase he gets back to wanting to trade

Being a 92 RS V8 it would have a L03 305 TBI motor same motor I have in my 89, they are great little V8's but most consider them boat anchors because it takes a good amount of money to get any power out of it

That doesn't take away from the fact that it is still a good motor for a DD, or if you just want to cruise

Being 100% factory isn't unheard of with the RS's so don't let him make you think it's extra special, but it is a good thing as it will be a clean slate for you

The motor has normal wear issues, mine has just under 100000 miles being 23 years old it needs valve seals(smokes on start up) and a intake gasket, everything else so far has been routine maintenance or a sensor failing here or there, nothing major.

These are great cars and if you are interested get one quick, as said before the price of the third gens are going up.
