To check your gearing, first put transmission in neutral.
With an open differential, keep one rear wheel on the ground. Rotate the tire TWO full revolutions and count how many times the driveshaft turns.
With a limited slip rear, get both rear tires off the ground. Rotate the tire ONE full revolution and count how many times the driveshaft turns.

there should be a gear on the vss and on the shaft, if the gear is broken or was not on the vss then your vss will not work and with that the speedo will not work.

If you have a limited slip rear, that's 4:10 gears. If you have an open diff, you have a 2:something. Since you turned the wheel only one revolution, does that mean you have l.s.?

Go back to my previous post about counting the revolutions, although it still may have been confusing to you...
With a limited slip, turn the wheel one revolution and count the number of driveshaft turns.
With an open diff, turn the wheel two revolutions and count the driveshaft turns. BUT, treat those two revolutions as only one when doing the math (because an open diff splits the revolutions between both wheels). I don't think you may have done that part?
Clear as mud now?

say i have limited slip and i put it on the lift and and turn the wheel one rev. and the drive shaft turns close to four times what does that tell me about my gears

i am going to open it up and change the fluid to see what it looks like

and i am getting my egr block plate in the next cpl days took awhile to get this machine shop to get it right ,they sent me one for carb. intake ...... and i will let you know how that goes when i get it ...........thinking about getting some headers too.
is there better TB injectors that might help in performance

You would have a ratio that's the one nearest to 4...4:10/4:11's.
