Hey, I was just wondering a few things. I'm buying a '91 Camaro 305 auto for $600. It runs good but I want atleast 400+ hp in it. What can I do to get it there. I'm thinking of supercharging it and getting a blower but I'm having trouble finding the blower. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Jeff
P.S. The big reason for such a cheap buy is it's missing the front bumper and front left fender...

400 HP could be reached by boring and stroking the block to 350 cubic inches. with 350 cubic inches and the right heads, cam, distributor, intake and exhaust i believe 400 HP is a very reachable number. in my opinion blowing a 305 is going a little overboard but, what the heck do it know. sick

Ok, so bore it out to a 350...then what? I also have a question. The guy I'm buying it from said it was a TPI but when I was reading about it the info I was getting said that the '91 305 RS was not a TPI but only a TBI. The seller is almost confident that it is the TPI. Was my information correct or no? It's supposedly the original engine. The owner went on vacation and I haven't gotten to see it yet to get the VIN or anything...

Yeah you can. The 350 is a bored out 305! I've got a guy that has been working on cars for over 40 yrs and he currently drives a 600hp '57 Chevy and his son drives the same car but with only 400hp. He's not the only one who has told me this...

Better find someone who knows what they are talking about. You CAN NOT bore out a 305 block and turn it into a 350 ci one. What don't you understand about having no wall thickness between the cylinders and the water jacket. The 305 casting dosen't have the metal there. 305 & 350 are two different castings.[sm=closed.gif]
