I've got a lead on 305 auto RS for $500.00. Was told it runs needs a battery and brakes. Paint is poor, interior same.

What should I look for? Any known issues with this year?

i took my dad with me when i went to go look at mine and it only cost me 350. he knew what to look for. all i can say is taking someone with you who knows alot about cars. plus its always good to have a second opinion.

 

Around here I would not even go look at a car for $500 unless I planned to spend money on it and time into it to fix it. But sometimes a deal comes along. But on average here a $500 dollar car you can see is a turd as you walk up to it.

 

I know a lot about cars, but not Camaros. I'm into old Datsun 240z.

THe only part that has me nervous was it came from NewYork. Salt is the worst enemy.

This is for my 13 year old who really likes old Camaros andI thought it would be a good bonding time fixing it up and chasing down parts together.
