Default 88er convertible compartment not opening

Hello everybody,

as just mentioned in the Newcommersection I do have some questions regarding this nice car. When we bought it the compartment for the roof did not open automatically. After some searching and unmounting peaces which we would not have needed we found the little manual straps to open the compartment. Smart as of pre-owner was not able to tell us.

Anyway, while we where there we checked the enginges on both sides and giving a signal the pull nicely as they should. So we unmounted to part between the seats to check the switch. This works just as fine, there is a rellais connected and this also works perfect. As far as we could identify the cables, from the rellais there is a yellow one going under the driver seat and towards the front somewhere behind the fuse boxes. However, at the enginges in the back there is a red one, connecting one engine to the other. But we could not find how the freaking yellow goes back and turns red....

any ideas where we should look and what we should check to get this to work again??

Thanks ahead!!

Wiring diagrams. Find them and check everything in the entire circuit untill you find it.

There are little monsters that live in Camaro's that eat ground wires. They ate my window and power lock grounds! Try grounding and see what happens.

As far as I could see the little engines in the back that are supposed to pull to lock open, they do not have ground wires. The get their ground from the chassis of the car.

Any idea where I can find the wiring diagramm? Like a body repair manual? That would really help

They may still be poorly grounded. Check your main chasis ground wires, and if I remember to, I'll get you a wiring diagram tonight while I'm at school. What year is the car? As for a repair manual, I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone. Haynes should be burned, and I would marry a Chilton's if it had breasts and indoor plumbing. You can get them at Advance Auto Parts for about $20.
