87 rear end width

RE: 87 rear end width
They are not as weak as the other person makes them sound. Any rear will break under abuse.
I could go a measure but to start off with do you know that they will not directly bolt into the 79 sub frame that you have. Third gens started using control arms and coil springs. So if that is still what your looking for I will crawl under my car unless some one else beats me to the answer.

RE: 87 rear end width
The Buick had rear coils back in 57 and my fabracator say he can make any rear work. The front sub fram is olny from the fire wall forward. With that I get disc break up front. I was going to go with an older 10 or 12 bolt but this way I get disc on the rear too. Is the disc breaks worth the strength issue? I an putting in a 350 creat motor that should make about 330 HP. Not looking for a race car just a more update suspension and drive tran.

By the way he say"THIS IS THE REAR FROM MY 87 IROCK CAMARO10 bolt IT WAS JUST PULLED FROM THE CAR IM PARTING ITS COMPLETE WITH DISK BRAKES NOT SURE THE GEARS THAT ARE IN IT should be pozi" From what I have seen all 87 IROC came with posi and gears from 2.73 to 3.23. Is this right?
