Well i got a grand to spend for some wheels and tires for my 87 z28(currently has no wheels or tires)

But i came across this 87 firebird. It looks like shiat. but it also looks like it could be cleaned up pretty nice. Some chick is selling it and i think i can get prety good deal. I could get it for 1000bucks canadian. it runs.

What do you think? do u think it would look good with a good cleaning?

I went to have a look at it. It runs fine(got some pep ). but when i pop the hood and its ideling you can hear rumbleing/quiet grinding sound. they said it was the water pump. how long do water pumps last once they start making noise?

It drives great though

 

mine lasted 2 months after it started making noise and then one day i parked my car and water just pores out from under my car.

 

How much did it cost to replace?

 

anywheres from 5 minutes to 5 months. is that were the noise is coming from should be able to tell if its from the front or the bottom. the noise description would point to somethin like a water pump, tensioner bearing or alt.

 

i paid $150 for mine at Advance.
