Default 87 with 2.8l

So im looking at buying a 87 camaro with a 2.8 litre v6.....

Owner states the engine runs rough, but the car hasnt been started in roughly a year....

body is immaculate, interior not so much.....

id like to at least have the v6 in reasonable working order for a while.....till i can spring for a v8 swap...along with an interior redo.....

anyone have any suggestions on weather or not this is worth messing with.....

If the body is in as good as shape as you say, and the price is right, I don't see why not. But do double check all the possible 3rd gen rust areas before you pay. I've had mine for almost 14 years before I got around to getting it resto'ed and I'm finding the body will be as much as my motor/trans combo. So, just be careful.

If your going to do a v8 swap..

Honestly.. dont mess with even buying a v6 that runs poorly and has a bad interior. Just get at LEAST a v8. Makes thing 100% easier, not to mention cheaper to do the swap. Around here i can find a decent v8 third gen for about 2 or 3 grand. lots of miles, but if you pulling it anyway, it wont matter.
