'87 2.8 Engine code 34 (MAF)
We cleaned the MAF, however at autozone we had it on the counter and a guy walked by and swung his arm and knocked it on the ground - dont know if it damaged it or not, but we cleaned it out and put it back in and having the same problem.
code 34 means bad MAF sensor, or bad connection between MAF and ECM, or a bad ECM.
before we go dropping money for a new MAF sensor, how can we check if the connection between the MAF and the ECM is good? is there a picture showing where the ECM is and where the connection between the MAF and the ECM is? if someone can share/show me, that would be awesome!
thanks

You need a manual to list the reference voltages. I have never "pinned out" a 87 with a code 34 because we use a scan tool to watch MAF sensor operate.
One thing you can try is a tap test. Tap the MAF sensor on the side with the handle of a screw driver while the car is running. If the motor stumbles the MAF is done for.
